Notice of Meeting: Please take notice that a meeting of the Board of Education of the Fallsburg Central School District, Sullivan and Ulster Counties, New York, will be held on  October 21, 2020 beginning at 7:00 p.m., via Google Meet. 

Board of Education Meeting

This meeting will be held remotely via Google Hangouts. To listen to the meeting please join via telephone. The agenda will still be available in BoardDocs.

Public Participation at Board Meetings:
If you would like to speak during public recognition, please email the District Clerk at no later then 6:50PM the day of each meeting with the following information:
-first and last name of the speaker,
-telephone number,
-name of organization represented (if any),
-brief description of the topic to be addressed.

The Board President will announce that it is time for Public Recognition and will invite individuals one by one to speak. At that time, the speaker may unmute themselves.  All comments are still restricted to 3 minutes of length. Speakers must promptly return to mute following their comment.

Board Responsibilities
-Lead and govern the district through policy. 

-Hire and annually evaluate the superintendent's performance. 

-Annually adopt a fiscally responsible budget.
-Approve and provide for the academic program.

-Promote achievement and opportunities for students. 

-Oversee financial operations and transactions of the district. 

-Set goals and plan for the district's future. 

-Establish and maintain effective community engagement.
-Approve contracts and ratify collective bargaining agreements.

-Make decisions on personnel matters and recommendations. 

-Ensure facilities are insured and maintained. 

-Advocate on behalf of the community at the local, state, and federal level. 

Board Goals 2018-2019

-Create, maintain and foster ongoing professional development for the Board so members can stay current on the ever-changing educational landscape.

-Promote and support efforts to improve student achievement to strengthen college and career readiness.

-Foster communication between administrative staff members, teachers, Board, and community to create a collaborative environment.
