Dear Parents and Guardians,
In Fallsburg Central School District, we believe that all children deserve an education that fosters personal growth, inspires a passion for learning, and gives them the skills they need to succeed in an ever-changing world. But we can only provide this if we partner with you in your children’s education.
That’s why I’m inviting you to take part in our annual Diagnostic Tool for School and District Effectiveness (DTSDE) Survey, which launches Tuesday, March 7.
The DTSDE Survey is part of the New York State Department of Education requirements for Focus and Priority Schools. Survey questions address leadership and capacity, school leader practices and decisions, curriculum development and support, teacher practices and decisions, student social and emotional developmental health, and family and community engagement.
While this is a state-mandated survey, we see it as an opportunity to conduct an ongoing conversation about how we can inspire excellence in our students.
If we have your email address on file, you’ll receive a personal survey invitation. If not, you may take the survey at www.k12insight.com/FCSDSurvey. The survey is available in both English and Spanish.
Students in grades 3–12 will take the survey in school.
We’ve partnered with independent research and communications firm K12 Insight to administer the survey and compile the results. All survey responses are strictly confidential. K12 Insight’s final reports will share only the overall results, not individual responses.
We’re always striving to help our students reach their potential in their own way. It is important work, and your involvement is critical to ensure we make the best decisions for all our students.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Fallsburg Central School District.
Dr. Ivan Katz
