Dear Parent/Guardian:
I want to bring to your attention that the District had a volunteer basketball coach who was released from his volunteer duties last week because it came to our attention that he was messaging students privately, which is inappropriate, not permitted and contrary to District Policy. The Fallsburg Central School District takes behavior like this very seriously and we have no tolerance for such inappropriate behavior on the part of a school volunteer or any adult that works with children. In addition to the school’s investigation we also informed the Fallsburg Police Department about this issue as they are our partners when it comes to investigations of this nature.
A police investigation into the messaging behaviors of the individual has since led to his arrest. We realize that the individual had contacted several students over the past few months and several have come forward. There may be other students who were contacted but have not yet come forward. I urge any student and parent/guardian who may have been the recipient of inappropriate messages, pictures or requests to contact Principal Bruestle at the Junior-Senior High School and the Fallsburg Police Department.

Quiero informarle que el Distrito tenÃa un entrenador de baloncesto voluntario que fue relevado de sus funciones de voluntario la semana pasada porque nos dimos cuenta de que estaba enviando mensajes privados a los estudiantes, lo cual es inapropiado, no está permitido y es contrario a la PolÃtica del Distrito. El Distrito Escolar Central de Fallsburg se toma muy en serio este tipo de comportamiento y no toleramos este tipo de comportamiento inapropiado por parte de un voluntario escolar o de cualquier adulto que trabaje con niños. Además de la investigación de la escuela, también informamos al Departamento de PolicÃa de Fallsburg sobre este problema, ya que son nuestros socios cuando se trata de investigaciones de esta naturaleza.
Una investigación policial sobre el comportamiento de mensajerÃa del individuo ha conducido desde entonces a su arresto. Nos damos cuenta de que el individuo se habÃa comunicado con varios estudiantes durante los últimos meses y varios se han presentado. Es posible que haya otros estudiantes que hayan sido contactados pero que aún no se hayan presentado. Insto a cualquier estudiante y padre/tutor que pueda haber sido el destinatario de mensajes, imágenes o solicitudes inapropiadas a que se comunique con el director Bruestle en la escuela secundaria y el Departamento de PolicÃa de Fallsburg.
