update imageDear School Community Member:

This afternoon (2/15/21), The District received confirmation from the Sullivan County Department of Health that a JSHS student who attended school last week tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, February 11, 2021. The school district continues to be in direct and ongoing contact with the Department of Health and we are currently gathering contact tracing information along with them on this case.

The student in question may have had direct contact with staff and students on the days leading up to their positive COVID-19 test. The contact tracing efforts being conducted will determine the level of exposures, if any. Our school nurses will be directly contacting students and staff who may have been exposed and will share that information with Sullivan County Public Health.

As a result of the student who tested positive and the potential exposures that have yet to be determined, The Fallsburg Central School District will be on remote instruction tomorrow, Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Unless otherwise notified, The hybrid/remote model will resume on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. As always, the health and safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We are working with Public Health today and tomorrow to confirm whether or not there has been any exposures and whether we need to take further precautionary measures.

I will update the district should additional precautionary measures need to take place.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,
Dr. Katz
Superintendent

Gracias.

Sinceramente,

Dr. Katz
