Instructional Vacancies

POSITION(S): Assistant Principal- Junior Senior High School

AVAILABLE: Immediately

QUALIFICATIONS: NYS certification as School Building Administrator or School Building Leader

REPORTS TO: Junior Senior High School Principal, District Administration

WORKS WITH:  Students, staff, parents, administration.

APPOINTMENT: Will be made at a Board meeting after recommendations are received by the Superintendent of Schools

SALARY: $100,000, commensurate with experience

TITLE:  JUNIOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

  1. The JSHS Assistant Principal shall be directly responsible to the Junior Senior High School Principal.
  2. He/she shall assist the principal in implementing a Student Activities Program which shall include student management and discipline and student extra-curricular activities.
  3. He/she shall act in place of the principal, in accordance with guidelines developed cooperatively with the principal and approved by the Superintendent, when the principal is out of the building.
  4. He/she shall provide on-site supervision.
  5. He/she shall assist the principal in staff supervision and performance evaluation, and shall submit written reports of performance evaluations to the principal in a manner which is timely and in accordance with the requirements in the collective bargaining agreements with employee unions.
  6. He/she will work cooperatively with the principal in developing the master schedule and in making decisions about staff and space allocations.
  7. He/she will conduct parent conferences and interviews as determined by the principal.
  8. He/she shall assist the principal in the updating and maintaining of student records.
  9. He/she shall assist the principal in developing cooperative working relationships with all staff members in all job titles.
  10. He/she shall work cooperatively with the principal and the staff to identify improvement needs in the following areas:
    1. school climate
    2. student academic performance
    3. meeting the needs of exceptional students
    4. staff relationships
    5. involvement of parents in planning their children's education
    6. student grouping, tracking, and equity
    7. curriculum description, coordination, mapping, implementation, and evaluation.
  11. He/she shall perform any other duties assigned by the principal or central administration.
  12. This is a 12-month position with the vacation, sick, and personal days as per the Fallsburg Administrators Association contract.

Position: Teacher Assistant

Position: Monitors

             4- Elementary Cafeteria- 3.75 hours per day 10:20am-2:05pm

             1- Kids Club Childcare- 2 hours per day 3:30pm- 5:30pm

Community Information Specialist

AVAILABLE:    August 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:

(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the

New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s Degree; or

(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the

New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree and two

years of experience in publicity, promotion or journalism; or

(C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and

four (4) years of experience as described in (B) above; or

(D) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B)

and (C) above.

DUTIES:

Researches, writes and prepares news releases about the district;

Assists in setting annual objectives for the district’s information program;

Serves as liaison officer between the district and news media;

Directs activities designed to inform the public of departmental activities such as public meetings, tours of facilities, events and other activities;

Oversees special projects such as the production of a regular column in the local newsletter reflective of the Superintendent’s view;

Contributes to, prepares, edits, reproduces and distributes internal and external documents, including newsletters, media releases, brochures, fliers and other illustrative or informative materials as needed;

Coordinates events such as exhibits in local libraries or community centers which present student art or academic work favorably to the public;

Schedules press conferences, as needed;
