The Fallsburg Central School District is proud to announce that they are approved to participate in the New York State Education Department Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Grant Program for the 2023-2024 school year. This will be the district’s second consecutive year as a participant.
The goal of the free-of-charge Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program is to help incentivize a healthier environment for elementary school students by encouraging nutritious snacking and increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables. It will also help introduce students to a wide variety of new foods. School districts with the highest percentage of students qualified for free and reduced-price benefits are eligible to enroll.
The program has proven to be successful as the district received overwhelmingly positive feedback from its students this past school year. Fallsburg hopes to continue that growing support and improve the health of their students in the upcoming school year with fresh fruit and vegetable options.
El Distrito Escolar Central de Fallsburg se enorgullece en anunciar que está aprobado para participar en el Programa de Subvenciones para Frutas y Verduras Frescas del Departamento de Educación del Estado de Nueva York para el año escolar 2023-2024. Este será el segundo año consecutivo del distrito como participante.
