Dear School Community,

We are aware of a recent class action settlement involving PowerSchool and its Naviance platform. Naviance is a platform used by many of our high school students for college and career planning, and we wanted to provide some information regarding this as families may have received this notice. 

• This settlement is not the result of a data breach or security incident. Your student’s information remains protected under a data privacy agreement that is fully compliant with New York State Education Law 2-d. 
• The District is not a party to this lawsuit and has no involvement in the legal proceedings or the settlement agreement.
• The District cannot provide legal advice or recommend whether your family should participate in this settlement. This is a personal decision for each family.
