Sign Up to Volunteer for A Single Bite!

As families across the country are set to lose their SNAP benefits, we are once again in need of volunteers to help deliver meals for our A Single Bite meal program. In September 2023, 8 families were receiving meals through the program. Today, 33 families are receiving meals with additional families signing up each week. This program would not be possible without our amazing staff volunteers who help to feed our community each week.

Here is some additional information about the logistics of the meal delivery program and volunteering:
(1) Meal deliveries require the use of your own personal vehicle, and you must be free from all work scheduled obligations in order to volunteer.
(2) You do not have to be available every single Wednesday in order to volunteer. We can share the Volunteer Schedule document with anyone who is interested in volunteering, and you can sign up to deliver meals on the day(s) that you are available. Anything helps!
(3) Meals are delivered by our volunteers to the homes of FCSD families in need throughout the school year on Wednesdays (excluding holidays and breaks)
Meals are distributed to volunteers at the district central office parking lot at 2:30 PM, and to BCES at 3:30 PM.
(4) Volunteers receive the meals to be delivered as well as a delivery route with a list of names and addresses of families receiving meals
(5) Delivery routes take approximately 30 minutes to complete and are located throughout the local towns including Loch Sheldrake, Hurleyville, Fallsburg/South Fallsburg, Woodridge, Woodbourne, Greenfield Park, and Rock Hill. If you have a preference over delivery route location, we can try to assign you the delivery route that you prefer!
