Junior Senior High School

Welcome to Fallsburg Junior Senior High School! Our building is a special place with amazing learners who do incredible things each day.

The Fallsburg Junior-Senior High School serves approximately 600 students in grades 7 - 12 in a welcoming, safe environment. The program in the junior high school, grades 7 and 8, allows our students to become academically and socially prepared for the rigors of high school. All programs and materials are aligned to the Common Core standards. In addition to classes, the junior high students participate in both the OLWEUS and PBIS programs.

The high school program, in grades 9 - 12, prepares our students to be successful both in their high school years and far beyond. Besides our academic programs, great emphasis is placed on both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, as well as developing leadership skills and fostering community service. Seventy-five percent of Fallsburg graduates go on to college, and over $25,000 is awarded annually, through community-based scholarships, to deserving students.

The students are guided throughout their junior and senior high school years by a dedicating, caring faculty and staff that places the needs of the students and community above all else.

The typical school day runs from 7:56 AM until 2:38 PM. The junior-senior high school currently offers a number of after school activities, in our Extended Day program, to meet all needs, including academic assistance, sports tutorials and various enrichment activities, such as art or dance. Additionally, several sports teams function throughout each season and are always looking for new, motivated athletes to participate.

Communication is critical for the benefit of your child. Please feel free to call the school at any time if you need assistance, and don't hesitate to call and meet with your child's teachers to insure their success. Additionally, I am often in need of parents to serve on various committees throughout the school year, and if that is of interest to you, I encourage you to become involved. Together, we can help all of our students be successful!

What sets us apart?

  • We have a newly designed embedded college Associates Degree Program through SUNY Sullivan. Our 11th and 12th graders have the ability to take dual enrollment courses and graduate with both a high school diploma and associate's degree. Students also have the option of only taking a few college courses if they would like to earn some college credits but not pursue the full associate's degree.
  • Our technology department offers a new Siena College Computer Science Pathway where students can take three years of computer science offered with a partnership with Siena College. Students who take all three years will learn the fundamentals of computer programming, website design, algorithmic thinking, and many more critical components of computer science.
  • Our district is the recipient of the 21st Century Grant from New York State - this program funds countless after school enrichment programs including cooking club, video game club, dance club, guitar lessons, and much more.
  • Mental Health is prioritized in Fallsburg. With three full time social workers on our faculty, we have one of the lowest student to social worker ratios in our region.
  • Parents and families are viewed as equal partners in students’ educational journeys. We are proud to partner with an active PTO and our school board and full-time Community Liaison work together to plan numerous school-community events
