Principal Job Description:
1. The Elementary Principal shall assume the educational leadership of his/her staff, students and parents.
2. The Elementary Principal shall be responsible for the organization, administration and supervision of all activities within his/her building.
3. The Elementary Principal shall have direct supervision over all professional staff members assigned to his/her building. He/she shall, in cooperation with appropriate district administrators, supervise the activities of custodians, cafeteria personnel and clerical personnel.
4. The Elementary Principal shall have the authority to establish special policies for the administration of his/her school, subject to the approval of the superintendent.
5. The Elementary Principal, shall attend the first Board of Education Meeting of the month and others, as requested, to discuss activities of his/her school, to the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education.
6. The Elementary Principal shall provide written evaluation reports to the Superintendent of Schools on all professional personnel assigned to his/her building, as outlined in the Fallsburg Teachers Association -Board of Education contract.
7. The Elementary Principal shall have the responsibility for discipline and control of the students in his/her building. In serious cases, he/she shall have the authority to suspend students for disruptive behavior.
8. The Elementary Principal shall provide information to the staff on new trends in educational leadership, with the staff sharing research on new innovations and experimentation.
9. The Elementary Principal performs such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the District.
10. This is a 12 month position with the same number of vacation, sick, and personal days available to other administrators in the district.

Position: Pupil
Personnel Services Bilingual Interpreter and Translator (School District)
AVAILABLE: Immediately
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the NYS Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Science, with a specialization in Spanish.
DUTIES: Interpretation Services: Provide real-time, accurate interpretation during special education meetings, including CSE meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other relevant interactions; Facilitate communication between CSE chairpersons, educators, parents, and students to ensure mutual understanding; Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times;
Translation Services: Translate IEP documents, clinical evaluation reports, and other related materials from English to Spanish and vice versa; Ensure translations are accurate, clear, and culturally appropriate; Review and proofread translated documents for errors and consistency;
Educational Support: Explain the nature of disabilities and their implications for instruction to parents and Guardians; Assist parents in understanding special education processes, their rights, and available resources; Provide information on educational strategies and accommodations that can support students with disabilities;
Support for English Language Learners: Assist families of prospective English Language Learners (ELLs) by providing interpretation and translation services; Support parents during school registration to review the Home Language Questionnaire; Conduct parent/student interviews to assess language needs and assist in the enrollment process;
Collaboration: Work closely with CSE chairpersons, special education teachers, and other school staff to ensure effective communication and support for Spanish-speaking families; Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in interpretation, translation, and special education; and any other duties determined or assigned by the Pupil Personnel Services Director.
This is a 12 month position.
