As you may know, recently the New York State Department of Health amended its COVID-19 guidelines for school districts in order to align them to the most recent recommendations from the CDC. Part of these new guidelines address the distance required for physical distancing in schools. In geographic areas that do not have high levels of community transition of COVID-19, it is possible for secondary schools to reduce the distance between students to three feet during instruction. Currently, Sullivan County is defined as an area with high levels of community transition so at this time no change can be made at the Junior Senior High School related to these new guidelines.

As the level of community transition can (and hopefully will) change, we want to be prepared. To that end, we are hosting a virtual parent/guardian Town Hall meeting. This meeting will take place on Tuesday April 27th at 5:30. I will provide participants with an update of our current reopening plans, and attendees will be able to write questions in the Google Meet Chat Box. Other administrators and I will answer any questions you may have about our existing plans and those in the future.

Queridos padres y guardianes,
