Senior Night for the baseball and track & field teams took place on May 12, 2023 at Fallsburg Junior-Senior High School.
Seniors were accompanied by family, coaches and teammates as they commemorated their final season as a Fallsburg Comet. Baseball head coach, Dylan Gaucher, and track & field coaches, Danielle Halikias and Loren Rapaport, congratulated the seniors on their milestone achievement and wished them the best of luck in their futures.
This year’s Senior Night also marked a special occasion for the district. Fallsburg graduate and standout athlete, Albert White, was invited to speak with students about his experience as a former Fallsburg athlete. In 1997, Mr. White was a state champion in the 100-meter race and runner-up in the 200-meter race. He was state champion again in 1998; coming in first in the 200-meter race and runner-up in the 100-meter race. Upon graduation, he earned a full scholarship to play track & field at the University of Rhode Island.
“I’m glad to see that Fallsburg track has come a long way because when I ran track here, we did not have a track,” said Mr. White. “We used to practice on the soccer field, in the cafeteria, on the front lawn, and on the hard concrete.”
President of the Fallsburg Central School Board of Education, Michael Weiner, also gave remarks about Mr. White. He stated, “I’ve had the honor of coaching at Fallsburg for nearly forty years, and Albert was one of the best athletes we’ve ever had in this district.”

La noche de último año para los equipos de béisbol y atletismo se llevó a cabo el 12 de mayo de 2023 en Escuela Secundaria de Fallsburg.
Los seniors estuvieron acompañados por familiares, entrenadores y compañeros de equipo mientras conmemoraban su última temporada como Fallsburg Comet. La Noche para personas mayores de este año también marcó una ocasión especial para el distrito. El graduado de Fallsburg y atleta destacado, Albert White, fue invitado a hablar con los estudiantes sobre su experiencia como ex atleta de Fallsburg. En 1997, el Sr. White fue campeón estatal en la carrera de 100 metros y subcampeón en la carrera de 200 metros. Volvió a ser campeón estatal en 1998; quedando primero en la carrera de 200 metros y subcampeón en la carrera de 100 metros. Al graduarse, obtuvo una beca completa para jugar atletismo en la Universidad de Rhode Island.
“Me alegra ver que la pista de Fallsburg ha recorrido un largo camino porque cuando corría aquí, no teníamos pista”, dijo el Sr. White. “Solíamos practicar en la cancha de fútbol, en la cafetería, en el jardín delantero y en el concreto duro”.
El presidente de la Junta de Educación de la Escuela Central de Fallsburg, Michael Weiner, también hizo comentarios sobre el Sr. White. Dijo: "He tenido el honor de entrenar en Fallsburg durante casi cuarenta años, y Albert fue uno de los mejores atletas que hemos tenido en este distrito".
