Dear Parent/Guardian:
I received information late this afternoon regarding an alleged threat to the Junior-Senior High School. This information came from a student who shared it with other students and staff during the junior-senior high school dismissal. After a quick and thorough investigation by school district officials and the Fallsburg Police Department, the threat was ultimately determined to not be credible.
I would like to thank the Fallsburg Police Department for working with us in such a timely fashion so we could get to the bottom of the alleged threat. The police department also supported us by giving us an impressive police presence for our after-school activities at the junior-senior high school.
As you know, the health, safety and welfare of our students, staff and school community members continues to be our top priority. Informing our parents and guardians, as soon as practicable, is also a top priority.
We continue to take all threats very seriously and we investigate threats accordingly with our staff and our law enforcement partners. Today was another great example of our police department working with us and supporting us through an investigation that, thankfully, ended up being a non-credible threat.
Unfortunately, threats do take place from time to time. I encourage our collective vigilance in reporting any threats that come to anyone’s attention so that they can be investigated fully.

Recibí información a última hora de la tarde sobre una supuesta amenaza a la Escuela Secundaria Junior-Senior. Esta información provino de un estudiante que la compartió con otros estudiantes y el personal durante el despido de la escuela secundaria. Después de una investigación rápida y exhaustiva por parte de los funcionarios del distrito escolar y el Departamento de Policía de Fallsburg, finalmente se determinó que la amenaza no era creíble.

Continuamos tomando muy en serio todas las amenazas e investigamos las amenazas en consecuencia con nuestro personal y nuestros socios encargados de hacer cumplir la ley. Hoy fue otro gran ejemplo de nuestro departamento de policía trabajando con nosotros y apoyándonos a través de una investigación que, afortunadamente, terminó siendo una amenaza no creíble.
Desafortunadamente, las amenazas ocurren de vez en cuando. Animo nuestra vigilancia colectiva para informar cualquier amenaza que llame la atención de cualquier persona para que pueda ser investigada a fondo.
